A colorful, abstract illustration of six diverse people gathered together, with one person holding an open book. The group includes women and men with different skin tones, hairstyles, and accessories, engaging in conversation and sharing a moment of community.

stories that belong

we started Mestiza Books because the stories we grew up wanting to read didn't exist yet, or if they did, they were hard to find. Stories that lived in the spaces between cultures, languages, and identities. Stories that didn't need to explain themselves or translate their heart for anyone.

we publish books that embrace complexity. The immigrant daughter navigating two worlds. The queer kid in a small town finding their voice. The grandmother whose recipes carry revolution. We're here for the narratives that refuse to be boxed in, the authors who write from the intersection of their truths.
